Planning a baby shower for a friend or family member can be a fun and animated time. However, sometimes it can be difficult to come up with creative ideas and unique baby shower games that will make the celebration a lot more animated and memorable. If you're tired of the same old Baby Bingo and Baby Word Scramble games, here are three game suggestions you might want to consider as alternatives.
The Name Game
Ask each of your guests to pick two names for the baby and write them on separate pieces of paper. If the gender of the baby is known, both names should be of that gender. Otherwise, have the guests write down one girl's name and one boy's name. Using longer names will make this game more interesting. Toss the names into a hat or diaper bag, and then have man randomly go for two.
Once this is done, have the guests come up with as many distinct words as they can that can be made from the letters in the names that were drawn. For example, if the names were Derek and Christopher, they might come up with the following words:
Christ-deer-red-cop-her-stop-there-steer
Words must have at least 3 letters. Whoever comes up with the most words wins. Play a couple rounds with distinct baby names.
Baby Feeding Time
This fun baby shower game usually gets more than a few laughs. Fill a large bowl with cotton balls and then place an empty bowl next to it. Blindfold one guest at a time and have them try to exchange cotton balls from the full bowl to the empty one. Give them 30 seconds to exchange as many as they can using a spoon. The guest who transfers the most wins a prize. This is great fun as it's very difficult to tell if you have any cotton balls in your spoon since they are so light.
Needle In The Rice Bowl
Take a bowl and fill it part way with uncooked rice. Then, mix in 10-12 small safety pins, making sure they are terminated so no one gets poked. Set an empty bowl to the side, blindfold one player at a time, and have them exchange as many safety pins as they can into the empty bowl in 30 seconds. It sounds pretty easy, but you'll be surprised how much the safety pins feel like pieces of rice.
If you're looking to spice up your festivities, these three unique baby shower games are sure to help you get started.
